Book an appointment
Taking the step to book a first session can bring up a lot of questions — that’s completely normal. Here’s what to expect, so you can book with confidence.
What to Expect
Your first session is a chance to talk through what’s brought you here — no pressure to have it all figured out beforehand.
Sessions take place online via Google Meet, usually 50 minutes long.
We can work in English, Hindi, Marathi, Urdu or Bengali — whatever feels most comfortable, and you’re welcome to switch mid-session.
Everything you share is confidential, within the limits explained below.
Sessions are £90–100 depending on session type. See full pricing and cancellation policy on the Fees page.
Confidentiality — How It Works
What you share with me in session is confidential. I don’t discuss the content of your sessions with anyone else, including family members, without your permission. The exceptions are if I believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm, or if I’m required to by law, I may need to break confidentiality — and wherever possible, I’ll talk this through with you first.
Confidentiality for Children and Teenagers
This works a little differently, and depends on age and understanding rather than a fixed rule.
Under UK guidance, a young person under 16 can be assessed as “Gillick competent” — meaning they understand enough about what therapy involves to make their own decisions about it, including what is and isn’t shared with a parent. Where a young person is Gillick competent, I work with them in much the same confidential way as an adult, and won’t share details of what they tell me with a parent without their agreement — except where there is risk or a safeguarding concern. In that case, as a duty of care, I would need to share the information, but this would be discussed with you first.
For younger children, or where a young person isn’t yet at that stage of understanding, I’ll usually agree with both the young person and their parent(s) at the start of therapy what will and won’t be shared, so everyone knows where they stand before sessions begin.
In every case, the same safeguarding exception applies: if I believe a child or young person is at risk of serious harm, I have a professional responsibility to act on that, which may include informing a parent or the relevant authorities.
FAQ
What if my child doesn’t want to talk?
That’s really common, especially in a first session. I go at their pace — there’s no pressure to talk before they’re ready, and I use approaches that don’t rely on a child opening up straight away.
Can I have sessions in a language other than English?
Yes — I work in English, Hindi, Marathi, Urdu and Bengali, and you’re welcome to move between languages within a session if that’s more natural for you.
What happens after I book?
You’ll receive a confirmation with a Google Meet link to join your session and a short form to complete beforehand, so we can make the best use of our time together.
“Been working with Mansee about a year now and from the get go she’s been nothing but major help! We’ve worked through my traumas and ADHD issues with all the exercises and insights she has provided each session. I learn something new every time with her and would definitely recommend her to anyone planning to take a step forward in therapy. Thanks a lot Mansee!”
